NEWS FROM NASFAA

In a letter to NASFAA members, the National Chairs share more about the leadership transition plan as NASFAA President Justin Draeger departs following the National Conference, and the search for NASFAA’s next President & CEO. This is the first in a regular series of transparent updates to NASFAA members on the transition and search process, which will begin this spring. We welcome you to share your comments and thoughts about the search process and NASFAA's next leader.

NASFAA is interested in how your institutions are preparing for the new Gainful Employment and Financial Value Transparency institutional reporting requirements which are due on October 1, 2024. Please answer this quick survey on which office on your campus is leading the effort to prepare your institution to meet the reporting deadline.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Get the recognition you deserve by earning the FAAC® designation. Schedule your exam soon to take advantage of your knowledge of current Title IV regulations before the Certified Financial Aid Administrator® Knowledge Exam is updated for the 2024-25 award year — now planned for June 1, 2024. NASFAA postponed the transition in response to community feedback and continuously changing guidance from ED this spring. FAAC® candidates preparing to take the certification exam should keep in mind this timing: May 1-21 will be the 2023-24 version; June 1-21 and beyond will be the 2024-25 version. Not approved yet? Learn more and apply online today. If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected].

Regional and state associations can now order 2024-25 training materials for use at association conferences, training institutes, and other training events. NASFAA Authorized Events provide a suite of materials (study guides, instructor guides, slide decks and slide handouts, and overview slides) for each available topic. Authorized Events, utilizing instructors who have earned a NASFAA Credential in the respective topic, create the opportunity for participants to have access to credential tests at no additional cost beyond the event they are attending.

Register for NASFAA’s 2024 virtual conference on July 8-11, 2024. The virtual conference will feature the same great aspects of the national conference you've come to know and love, but in a 100% virtual format. The content will consist entirely of unique sessions not offered at the NASFAA 2024 National Conference in Milwaukee. For one low price of $350, everyone on your NASFAA roster can participate in the conference. Want to learn more? Check out our upcoming sessions and speakers.
